Wesley Snipes - Prosecutors Want Snipes Back In Jail

LATEST: Actor WESLEY SNIPES could have his bail terms revoked and thrown in jail if the U.S. Attorney's Office has its way.

The Blade star was handed a three-year prison sentence in April (08) after officials found him guilty of failing to file his taxes for five years.

His lawyers are working to have the charges overturned and secured a bail request to allow Snipes to remain free on bond last month (May08) while they try to appeal the convictions.

Judge William Terrell Hodges ruled the " court is persuaded by the history of the case and all of the attendant circumstances that the defendant poses no substantial risk of flight and does not constitute a danger of any kind if he remains at liberty pending appeal".

But prosecutors disagree with the Ocala, Florida judge - and on Thursday (19Jun08) filed their own request to have Snipes surrender himself to police custody.

Steve Cole, the spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office, says, "We want him in custody. He's been convicted by a jury. He has been sentenced to three years and he should be in custody."

Sir Paul McCartney to produce The Wombats

The Wombats have responded to Sir Paul McCartney's claims that he would be interested in doing production work with the Liverpool trio.

Last month the legend said he would be tempted to produce The Wombats, who he previously met at the Liverpool Institute Of Performing Arts.

Responding to the comments, The Wombats' drummer, Dan Haggis told BBC Newsbeat, "It's ridiculously flattering to have a Beatle like Sir Paul even mentioning us in a sentence.

"I think we'd be up for doing a demo and seeing what it was like. Imagine kicking back with Sir Paul! Like, 'Yeah, I think we need a bit more hi-hat there Paul.'"

Vick's Little Bro Bit by the Popo

Marcus VickIt must run in the family. Cops say former Virginia Tech QB Marcus Vick led them on a wild goose chase.

According to Norfolk, Virg. police, a bike cop approached Vick -- Mikey's younger brother -- after he saw him arguing with a woman in a car early Friday morning. When he was asked to show his ID, cops say Vick hightailed it down the road.

After catching up with him, cops say Vick failed a field sobriety test. He's been charged with DUI, eluding police, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.

His lady friend, Delicia Cordon of Miami, was charged with being drunk in public.
